Bob Newhart

Many of my older readers will remember Bob Newhart the American comedian in the 1960’s.

One of his funniest skits was when he pretended to be in the UK and was talking to Sir Walter Raleigh who had just found tobacco in America and was planning to ship eighty tons of leaves to England.

Particularly funny was when he described rolling up leaves in some paper, and putting them in your month and then setting fire to them. For the more elderly watch and laugh again. For the youngsters see what made us laugh fifty years ago when it was a simpler world.
